The MC100CM is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fibre media to 100Base-TX copper media or vice versa. The MC100CM is designed in accordance with the IEEE802.3u(10/100Base-TX) standard and the 100Base-FX standard, and is intended for use with multimode fibre cables with SC connectors. The MC100CM supports the long-wavelength (LX) laser specification at a forwarding rate equivalent to full... bandwidth. It transmits and receives at a wavelength of 1310nm. Other features of the module include: the ability to be used as a stand- alone unit (no additional enclosure required) or with TP-LINK's 19-inch system enclosure, auto-MDI/MDIX for the transmit port, auto-tuning in duplex mode on the transmit port and status LED on the front panel. The MC100CM transmits in Fibre Optic Long Distance mode using a multimode fibre optic cable up to a distance of 2km.
